The First Set of GoPE! Country Cards is Now Available!
The Global Observatory for Physical Education – GoPE! – is an independent and international organization made up of physical education, physical activity and health researchers, policymakers, and practitioners.
GoPE! was established in 2023 in response to the urgent need for a global surveillance system that compiles, produces, and analyses data on quality physical education and physical activity in schools.
GoPE!’s mission is, therefore, to monitor physical education policy, surveillance systems, and research, to contribute to more active, healthy, and equitable societies.
GoPE! is inspired and collaborates with the Global Observatory for Physical Activity – GoPA! – a leading worldwide monitoring system in physical activity surveillance, research, and policy since 2012. Together, GoPE! and GoPA! are worldwide complementary surveillance systems, supporting countries in fostering active, healthy lifestyles across all ages.
In 2025, the GoPE! is launching the first set of Country Cards, which present physical education profiles for over 150 countries. The GoPE! Country Cards are crucial in making the case for physical education at the national, regional and global levels.
